Aim of the Course
To provide an introduction and awareness to typical hybrid and electric vehicle (xEV) architectures at a high-level. The course will provide an overview of a typical EV system architecture, followed by a dive into the relevant systems, subsystems, components and control systems within. The candidates will also have an opportunity to put knowledge gained into practice by designing an EV architecture.
— Identify and describe the different typed of hybrid and electric powertrains
— Identify and describe the functionality of EV systems, sub-systems and components
— Describe different types of communication systems used in the automotive industry
— Describe EV propulsion and braking system control strategies, at high-level
— Understand EV thermal management
— Design a high-level EV architecture using the V-cycle model approach
